Repeated Serial Number Prompt in Movie Studio After Reinstall

I recently had to reinstall Movie Studio 18 Platinum on the same computer I originally installed it on. While it’s an older version, I have a valid serial number. The issue is that every time I launch the application, it prompts me to enter the serial number again. It successfully activates each time, but the prompt keeps appearing on every launch. How can I fix this or prevent it from repeatedly asking for activation?

I should mention that I was forced to reinstall this on the latest version of Windows 10 after encountering the error:
"Your installation folder may be damaged. Error code: -57. Try re-installing..."
The error appeared during a routine edit, which led me to reinstall the software. Since then, I’ve been experiencing the repeated serial number prompt.

@samtheman

Hi

. . . . repeated serial number prompt . . . .

Try disabling your Antivirus program Real time and/or Folder protection feature(s) and activate Movie Studio (MMS) then restart MMS.

If this works, re-enable the turned off Antivius features and restart MMS.

If the error comes back the AV software is blocking Movie Studio and you need to add exceptions for it, how you do this depends on the AV software you have installed.

Note: If you are using a 3rd party Antivirus program, on disabling it, Microsoft Defender may become active, disable its RealTime/Folder protection as well.
