Sound is out of sync

I've imported uncompressed avi file where is video and sound in same file. In original file sound is completely in sync, but after imported it to Movie Edit Pro 17 plus, sound goes more and more out of sync during the video. After half an hour, it's about 2 seconds! So maybe Movie Edit somehow breaks the frame rate sync or something...? Is there some frame rate settings somewhere, that could cause this?

The original material is from VHS-video (PAL, I think), burned to DVD and then ripped to avi file. As said, in avi-file sync is perfectly in time.

Is your MEP patched to the latest version 10.0.11.0 ?

If not apply the latest patch as this fixed many of the problems associated with out of sync audio.

It is probable that the source avi is NTSC, it being converted from a ripped DVD, which converter did you use?

You can use GSpot or MediaInfo to analyse the files - search Google will take you to the free downloads.

Everything was as should be, so no problems with original material. But I got it in sync when a ripped sound in separate file and imported that in Movie Edit. I still don't know why it didn't originally work, because sync was ok with original material and with Windows Movie editor.

What did you use to rip the audio?

Did the software used change the bitrate of the audio?
