#1 I didnt get my CD yet

#2 There was nothing in the ad about a limited number of characters
So you pay $100 plus to "own" have it on your hard drive
BUT
To use the soundforge text program on your computer you must pay them a never ending fee for the amount you want to use it?

Their information "sound forge "no extra charges", The phrase "no extra charges" may appear in specific contexts related to Sound Forge "

It looks like there is a never ending charge to use text to speech?

@buddy-w It says here:

With the Pro version, receive 120.000 characters for Text-to-speech.

https://www.magix.com/int/music/sound-forge/sound-forge-pro/features/

Did you already used the full contingent? 120.000 characters are about 150 minutes of speech. It runs on external GPU Servers. So, unlimited generation would be too expensive.

There are pretty powerful local generation text to speech AI models available, for example https://github.com/Lex-au/Orpheus-FastAPI But you need a beefy GPU with about 16 GB VRAM for all features at full speed (on CPU it runs much slower) and it can only generate a handful of coherent sentences at once, not pages of text. So would you need to split and prompt a longer text 2-3 sentences at a time.

@buddy-w

Hi

. . . . There was nothing in the ad about a limited number of characters . . . .

As shown above, this is clearly stated on the SF 18 Functions page here.

This equates to somewhere between 40 - 80 A4 pages of text (depending on font size, line spacing and margins).

Once you have used the initial allowance, you have to purchase more, this is standard practice.

If you have not used up the initial allowance, are you logged in to use the TTS feature?
