for some reason it wont let me import a wmv file into the editor while letting me import other wmv files. The same file iport into windows movie editor just fine so its nto the file. Does anyone know how to fix the program?

Do you really mean MEP 14? Or MEP 2014? And what OS?
Anyway, in either case, first thing I'd try is File > Settings > Reset program settings to default...
Or close MEP, locate your INI file and delete or rename it and then restart MEP so that it can rewrite the deafult INI.
Here on my XP (32-bit) PC in MEP 2014, the relevant INI is here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Terry\Application Data\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2014 Premium\Videodeluxe.ini
Failing that, perhaps it's a codec issue. In which case let us know what MediaInfo or GSpot report as the codec required for that file.

Hey terry thanks for the response I figured it out last night. I just had to reinstall quick time for the .mov extension. Everything works fine now.
