I posted this question a while ago.
At that time, I could use the Timeline to create CD's, but for some reason I can't now. I even upgraded to 16. Actually I don't know if the word for the window is Timeline, but an image of it is on the top of page 85.
I followed the directions. I tried using the TrackList and a New DataWindow as a replacement, by dragging files to it, but the metadata doesn't copy.
What do I do?
Hello again @Arthur-Gabhart, Is the CD burner (drive) listed (Tools> Burn disc-at-once audio CD). Can you see the CD tracks at the bottom of the timeline? "(Options> Data Window> CD Tracks). You can name the CD tracks in "View> Metadata> Track list" or Right-click the CD track on the timeline and select 'Rename'.
I used a single file for the screenshot. For multiple song files, it is recommended to use the 'Event' tool (Edit> Tools> Event) to move the songs around. You can switch back and forth between the normal 'Edit' and the 'Event' modes if you wish.
Writing CD text is not possible in the "Track-at-once" audio CD mode
I do not think an individual file's metadata text (if there is any) is imported to a CD track or 'Track list'. The text must be typed in, or.. copy/paste... btw, it has been many years since I have actually burned a CD and none of my current PCs even have an optical drive.

Yes. MediaMonkey was able to read it when I extracted it.

There used to be 'Gracenote' for popular artists' CDs (which SF and CDA supported).
Otherwise, MP3TAG makes adding and copying metadata on MP3, M4a and other end-user file types relatively easy. It does not search for the info online though AFAIK..
I use MP3TAG, but the info doesn't copy. Only the sound transfers.
It will search or rather match, If you have registered with Discogs, the sound. The app then adds the info to the track(s).
