Title Transparency

I can't figure out how to adjust the transparency of titles that are overlaid on a photo background. I see how to adjust the transparency of the shadow, but the title font itself is also partially transparent.

I asked this question before and it was recommended that I raise the level of the object using the diamond:

This can be done very simply and applies to the transparency for all objects.

In the timeline mode, locate the text object and highlight it by clicking once on it.

In the middle of the object will be a little diamond with a line running through it. Simply drag this down to make the object less visible. This is also the volume control for music.

I had discovered the diamond that adjusts transparency and volume level, but even with the diamond all the way at the top (at maximum level), the characters still aren't fully opaque. Some of the background color still shows through the title characters that are superimposed over a color photograph. Is there some other setting I can adjust?

I'm using MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17.

I've got complete opacity with the slider up in both MEP14+ and VPV2.5! I checked this with various video display options eg overlay or direct 3D etc (under 'File' >> 'Program settings'). Maybe check these if the problem might be video card related. Is the transparency in the final render or only in the preview window? Perhaps a MEP 17 bug? :-(

Carl, I figured out the cause of the problem (actually it was my wife's suggestion, to give credit where it is due). It wasn't hardware related and wasn't a bug in the software either, just perhaps a design flaw or gap in the documentation.

The several tracks in a project are added as layers on top of each other. With other applications that use layers, you can move a particular object closer to the foreground or background with a "move forward" or "send backward" or "bring to top" type of command. No such command exists in Magix that I could find.

But, the order of the tracks determines the layers. Track #1 is the lowest layer. Track #2 is higher than #1, etc. Tracks that are on a lower layer are made relatively transparent, even if the diamond is set to max. My titles were partly transparent until I copied them to a new track at a higher layer (higher number) than the photos I wanted to superimpose them on. I had put in some titles then later added the photos that I wanted to use as background. That made the photos a higher layer on the heap and forced Magix to render the lower-level titles as somewhat transparent.

Thanks all the same for looking into the problem for me.
