I'm encountering crashing when I hit Stop while recording an analogue source from a USB digitiser. I'm recording to MXV/Progressive/100%. MEP 2021 doesn't do this. The VDL 2026 crash log was sent in OK.
Anybody else come across this?

It might be useful to copy the crash log and post it (or the last bits if it is a large crash log) the next time it happens. Also have you looked at the new MXV files and compared them to MXV files produced by MEP 2021?
Over the years I have found alterations made to proxy files that have caused me problems but no-one here seemed to take seriously.

I haven't noticed any difference in the MXVs. On a couple of recordings the MXV had audio (I could hear it) but could not, for the life of me, get it to display the waveform. Then, on another recording, the waveform appeared OK.

I was thinking along the lines of how many Mb/s is the file streaming at as a comparison but after trying that myself I see that would be a pointless exercise. Nothing else can read an mxv file even if I change the file extension to another container or codec extension.
The not displaying a wave form when there is sound produced is more of a puzzle. I'm assuming a sound object was produced, just no waveform showing inside.
Are you using a custom configuration?

I must have shocked it into submission because it's no longer crashing. I'll ask the mods to remove this topic.

I can't speak for John but I'm not sure whether the thread should be deleted! I think it serves to show any newbies to the software that even very experienced users, like yourself, can meet unexpected challenges, especially those whose resolution is ultimately inexplicable!

I have noticed a recent increase of similar reports in other forums of other programs I use.
While I personally haven't suffered crashes I had noticed a distinct slow down in various program responses during the last Windows security update which resided quietly in the background awaiting me to power down my PC and restart it for the install process to commence of . On this occasion I did not get the normal pop-up reminding me that the update (KB5062649) was pending.
