Why can't I load my disc onto the program?

The footage from my camcorder will not load in its entirety. At best, the footage comes out truncated.

Sorry, can't offer any suggestion without knowing what camera type, output file format etc you are trying. Does any other media program see everything, eg Windows Media Player?

do you use for file-imports from camcorder the producer-software

(SONY Cams use Picture Motion Browser)?
