Why, when i import a file from a dvd, does this one other file repeatedly import, no matter how many different other files i try to import?

We are trying to import several DVDs to create a sports highlight video.  We imported three games with no trouble and have cut portions of those videos to be included in the project.  However, now, every time we try to add a new game, it appears that we are importing the last game we imported (the third).  We can see the new game (to be added) in the import window.  We have checked and double checked that the correct DVD is in the drive (by looking at the files on the inserted DVD).  We are using the correct file path.  Yet, once it is done imported OR if we drag and drop the file into our project, this OTHER game shows up (it is the SAME game every time and it has previously been imported).  We have also tried saving the file to the computer and importing from a different location, but that same game keeps showing up, even though I am 99% certain we are telling the computer the right thing to do.  Help!  (We are using Movie Edit Pro 17; the files on the DVDs are in a folder named TS_VIDEO; the file extensions we are trying to import are .mpeg; we are operating on Windows xp Media Center Edition)

Try copying the files you need from the DVD to your hard drive, make sure that they have unique names and try importing them from the hard drive into a new project.
