zoom into section, hold section, zoom out to another section.

Hi there. I want to zoom into a section of video, hold the image on that section for a while and then move away to another section before returning to full screen. I assume I need to cut the video into clips and apply an effect to each, but how do I make sure that the start point of the next clip is the same as the end point of the previous one so I avoid a 'jump' as I move between clips / effects?  At the moment all I can do is guess the positioning and use trial and error to get it right.

Sorry, I hope this makes sense but zoom, section and size and position seems very complicated and I find it impossible to see what I have done once I have done it so I have to keep clearing all effects and starting again. Thank-you.  Any tips at all on zooming would be very much appreciated.

To solve your problem, i think you need to be familiar with Keyframe Animation. (I hope you have the Plus version of MEP 15-17, it is different in earlier versions)

If this is new for you, I advice you to experiment with a photo on Timeline to learn and understand the technique.

Mark your clip, and go to Effects > Movements effects > Section/Zoom. Now you can define the section and set the Keyframe. Move the cursor to next position, and set a keyframe with a different section (zooming). You need to experiment, it is not learned in 1-2-3 !!
