So anyway , I'm wondering what it would sound like if Metalica covered this Neil Diamond song. Lars and Kirk won't return my calls  so I had a go at it myself in the old Home Studio.

Nice to hear you again Ted.

Yes, you do a good job. But I more like the version from Neil himself or Johnny Cash or Chris Isaak. Here I miss the Ambience and Mystic of the original.

But as i say, good as well. And I think, Metallica wont make it better ^^

Hi!

Sehr stark gemacht!

Harte Gitarren! Der Gesang könnte aber etwas lauter sein.

Sehr gelungen!

Hi Teddy:

Interesting concept.  Shucks, I don't why Lars and Kirk are not responding to your calls... <lol>  Really good stuff here.  But, then again, you are among the very talented at this forum, man.  I always pull up a chair to listen to your music.

Thanks for sending me the heads up...

Griff

Hi Teddy

Dat you singin'?  I think this is a riot!  A GOOD riot!!!!

WHere ever do you get these ideas, huh?  I was a Neil Diamond fan for awhile.  'Til he got older and tried to pretend that he wasn't but still tried to song his old songs and that kinda ruined everything, at least for me.

I think your rendition is a very ingenius, innovative and insightful way to jazz up an old song and make it more current or at least make it different! So kudos to you, my friend!

WOOOOOOOOOOONDERFUL !!!!! ciao da sandro

Last changed by Sandro_Glavina_Channel on 9/24/2014, 4:09 PM, changed a total of 1 times.

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

Sounds good! The guitars are crunchy and all impeccably played. And I like how they still have enough clarity. What often annoys me about Metallica is the overly heavy, blurred sort of sound where you can barely make out the actual notes. Anyway, vocals and drums also work well in this context. I might just want the drums mixed a tad lower. Yeah, I'm probably the only drummer who ever says that. :)
