  Finally figured out the problem. After installing and uninstalling several legacy versions, it turned out version 13 of the Waves plugins included the vst 3s and the others didn't for some reason. Everything is working as usual finally! Stinkin

  I tested Sound Forge 2026 and didn't find any difference. But...plugins like the free Reapper package, for example, only work on SF 12. From 13 to 19 (2026) they don't. And there are plugins that worked on 18 but not on 12.
