RE: Lines in digitized VHS
Do you have a CRT TV? Full HD LCD TV with Scart. It also could be that the signal on the tape weakend over the years and the TV boost it while the grabber might not boost the signal. The problem also applies to other VHS tapes.

RE: Export quality from RTX Ti3060 far inferior to UHD770
All, I've uploaded a folder to Google Drive containing two files showing the issue. It's not really noticeable on my 60Hz monitor but on my TV (2019 LG LED, 200Hz refresh rate) the jerkiness problem is obvious. Another thing I've noticed: when I

RE: Export quality from RTX Ti3060 far inferior to UHD770
The saga continues... Definitely something odd with the 3060 exports (2720x1530 and 3840x2160 at various bitrates and also tried the UHD 5994 preset) on my TV (LG "4K"/UHD smart). I've made up a 1min 42 sec video of some drone footage with a

RE: Hi8 Blue Screen
@kevin-c2769 Kev, it might still be the camcorder: try playing it on the TV with one of your other RCA cables. It doesn't have to be the yellow one.

RE: Lines in digitized VHS
@MovieEditorr Did you deinterlace the recorded footage? Analog video images are saved in lines and only contain half of the full video frame. Each frame switches back and forth between even- and odd numbered lines. So, if you didn't deinterlace the

@me_again Hi Andy On the old CRT monitors it looked decent, as did the old PAL 625 TV. @AAProds Thanks for the parameters, I have some old interlaced video I want to have a look at restoring. John EB

RE: Hi8 Blue Screen
@AAProds Thanks for the response. I’ve tried connecting the camera to the TV using the same composite cable and I’ve no picture on there either so it looks like that’s the issue. I’ll order another one and hopefully that will sort it. Thank you for

RE: what are correct driver(s) for the "video grabber" K0065 for win11?
I installed the OBS software as suggested, is quite complicated but did my best on the setup, it recognized the Magix K0065 converter, and I tried to fill in all the settings, including NTSC_M for video capture. It will record the audio just fine

@me_again Hi Andy Probably, however the phrase ' internal processing' is a bit vague and could be interpreted in several ways, eg is this just for preview display, or, worst case scenario, trans-coding to RGB, then back to YUV when

@rickduley Hi Rick . . . . Blu-Ray. I thought it had gone the way of VHS . . . . Not yet, it is still quite popular, however there are fewer BD Burner and disc manufacturers. DVD's are nearly on the extinction list, the low resolution of 720 x 576

@browj2 Hi John . . . . From what I recall, you use the Movie Effect Settings Sharpness effect in all your videos . . . . That is correct, the reason is mainly based on experience and observation with creating BD discs, 1920x 1080 m2ts, the image

RE: Lines in digitized VHS
I doubt that it is the digitiser. You'll notice the yellow banding in the sky; that will be caused either by poor tape quality or the VCR, so I think the lines are probably caused by the same issue. I just tried another VCR by Samsung and the

RE: Hi8 Blue Screen
@kevin-c2769 Kev, it will almost certainly be either a cabling issue or digitiser settings issue. Try a Composite cable and then an S-Video cable. If no joy, try it on your TV (Composite connection only probably). In the program "Import" settings,

@tom_frank Tom, I too use AVIDemux but it is NOT an NLE but really just a GUI for FFMpeg. It is a basic trimmer only, like Lossless Cut. Magix NLEs did have true frame-accurate smart-rendering on MPEG 2 video, but that feature was discontinued some

@CubeAce Ray, the resolution is 320x240 (as in the Mediainfo) and is the original file I was given. I've asked my brother what camera was used and he thinks it was a Panasonic and it was a "big b***er" 🙂 that I assume didn't record in 320x240 so

Export quality from RTX Ti3060 far inferior to UHD770
I have read at various points that CPU encoding yields better results than GPU encoding, but the experiments I'd done in the past weren't conclusive enough to justify the extra encoding time. I've just started editing drone footage videos
