@rickduley Hi Rick, Thanks for the images; everything appears "normal" there! And for listing the type of disc. But are they DVD+R or DVD-R? In my experience, for single-layer -R are "better", i.e. produce fewer failures. What about the other

I have modified the signature. It was way out of date. I had forgotten it existed. More better? Thanks for the burner offer @AAProds, but no, Bilbo is a Dell OptiPlex 3070 with just the one place for a disc drive. That is a HL‑DT‑ST DVD+‑RW GU90N

@rickduley Hi Rick From the burn image above it looks like you are burning to a slim line DVD burner (HL-DT-ST-DVD=-RW GU90N) is this an external USB drive or a laptop ? If a laptop then the computer spec in your signature out of date. If an

Hi @johnebaker I am using MAGIX Video Pro X16 20.0.1.270 and AFIK following standard procedure for burning DVD. There is, I think, only a set set of steps to create a DVD with VPX16. Perhaps these give some insight.

Does this ring true to you fellas?Have we been barking up the wrong tree? Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation sold Verbatim to CMC in 2020. Even prior to that some Verbatim were actually CMC. I use Nero Disc speed to check what discs actually are. I

@rickduley Hi . . . . CoPilot is scornful of just about every DVD-DL . . . . With good reason, the most reliable brand I used were Datawrite (Ricoh). The Verbatim AZO discs use a Mitsubishi dye, which was known to be more reliable. John EB

@rickduley Rick, Should a squeaky-clean version of VPX16 burn DVD-DL discs okay? It "should", but "will" it? 😂 One thing before I risk turning another DVD-DL into a brick: Burn to the "Image Recorder"/ISO first. If that bit fails, you know it's the

@rickduley Rick, I don't have VPX 17 but what I do do these days (as burners become less plentiful and OSs advance) is burn to an ISO first, check that it plays OK in VLC Player, then burn it to disk using IMGBurn. That will help isolate where the
