  @Timbim There might be a workaround. Install the free Sound Forge Pro 18 trial and copy the audio_plugin_scan_server EXE files from the SF 18 directory to your SF 16 directory (make a backup of your files first!). This workaround already helped

  @bzan Ok, well, Window changed a lot since Sound Forge 7 came out. Have you installed it under the Program Files directory? This directory has much tighter security nowadays. Maybe the registration doesn't work because something gets blocked.

  Reyfox, Thanks for the reply. Deleting the files in the first directory you suggested did eliminate the effects, but not VDL listing them. Going to the control panel and deleting the Boris FX there did result in eliminating the boris fx in VDL...
