    Loud Bursts of Static... Why?
    I am getting random bursts of static when editing movies.  One of my movies I had a lot of audio clips, and after I record them with an external USB microphone, and listen to it, it would be fine.  Then I would record more, go back to the first one

    Well first off... louder is not better and any mastering engineer will tell you - you loose quality with volume. The nuances and details of your song is lost. Unfortunately today's trend is to get as loud as possible which requires a compressor.
