  WIW, with Magix's sister program Vegas Pro, installing K-Lite codecs is not recommended which can cause encoding problems.

  I can open the same videofile in VLC player and everyting seems to be OK. Whoops! Missed that. Doesn't VLC use it's own built in codecs? Still, stopping the Magix AVI Import may still be worth 10 seconds or so. AndyW
