RE: The output formats are messed up in Movie Studio 2024
@clement5 The imported file does not have the correct displayed aspect ratio.  This is a new error in 2023/2024 versions of MS.  Since an AVI does not have aspect ratio information MS should assume the same aspect ratio as the movie project NOT the

RE: no audio for mov files
I installed LAV filters to have a look and lo and behold, the dreaded Frame Salad effect came back, where with the Lagarith AVI files, you get random frames from other parts of the video showing up in the wrong places.

@Can-Dive Hi . . . . except features are turned off in MMS. From @browj2's screen shot of VPX15 settings I noticed that he has a lot more codec options than MMS which proves my point. . . . . I do not think so, the top 2 options appear to be

    RE: Increase recording quality?
@CubeAce Ray, I don't see the relevance of most of that to this situation. Personally I would not use uncompressed AVI for this as it is too wasteful but also I am against using GOP structures with B and P frames in them and if I was making a copy

    RE: Losslessness(?)
@me_again Hi Andy The simple answer is no this is not possible, however ...... You can create a custom export preset as shown below. For true lossless compression you need to use AVI or if you require a MP4 file format change the setting shown in

RE: Video gets distorted when opened in Movie Studio 2023
@johnebaker John, too many question marks. There is a bug where the program doesn't interpret analogue AVIs as 4:3; this could be related. @jeesa2 Could you host that file on a hosting site eg Google Drive and give us the link so we can have a play

Movie Studio 2024, How can I convert the mv_ to mp4?
I can't find a converter that recognizes a .mv_ file, which is how all my videos have exported. How can I ensure all my videos are mp4? When you go to the option to export, you see various options (mpeg, avi, windows media export, etc). When I see

@emmrecs Hi Jeff . . . . snippet clearly shows the picture tearing-and ghosting that plagues this video but playback of the file in VPX/MMS does NOT, even at full screen . . . . Same here it is bad. . . . . Why?? If this problem had affected all the

@Can-Dive would you elaborate on your comment regarding MMS2024 not handling AVIs properly Welcome aboard, Candive. Analogue AVIs don't have display aspect ratio information stored in them, so programs don't know how to display them. PAL analogue

RE: The output formats are messed up in Movie Studio 2024
@clement5 There is a porthole at 3:30 that can be used to sort out the aspect. As I said previously, I think it's 4:3 provided the image is stretched horizontally to fit a 4:3 frame. As discussed, it's actually only 1.33 to 1 due to the known AVI

@browj2 I have to admit it's one of the worst of the batch. I've had better quality 8mm to VHS to AVI to MP4 as technology progressed. Unfortunately I didn't keep the originals of those. Would it be possible for you to try the demux/remux with

Now I remember. 😂 If you have a 25fps timeline and insert a 25fps interlaced file (ie 50 fields per second) and then, in the Video object properties choose bottom field first or top field first, that's all you'll get, not the other field. If you

@clement5 Come to think of it, could you just host the whole DVD. Then we can check the sync after we get it into H264. FWIW, here's my H264 of your 3second clip. Process: -AVISynth script to TFM and TDecimate the telecine; -Open the AVS in VDub,

These are a continuation about ongoing problems for many years plus some bad ones as of the last update. 1.  When exporting a standard NTSC video with frame rate 24000/1001the resulting AVI has rate 23976/1000 and does not line up on the timeline

@jak.willis Because if I’m encoding in 720x576 then it will be throwing away some pixels - am I right? Surely the answer to that largely depends on your original files. If the source of those files was anything above 1024x576 then pixels surely have

@emmrecs Eeek. Looking at it in VDub and discarding the fields, the problem is with the top fields. Some are "kept", way after the scene moves on. A good example is when the fellow on the right passes the structure walking slowly towards the other

    RE: "Takes" functionality
@johnebaker, @AAProds Hello John, ..... a single *.TK2 file always contains the entire original movie..... Sorry if I wasn't clear on this, but I meant to say that a single *.TK2 file consists of references (the start and end positions of a take).
