RE: recommended processors, RAM, etc
@AAProds Hi Alwyn. My main point is that such file transfer types may become impossible in the future, relying on the copies of the original copies. At least for non professional use. How long will VHS tape content remain viable? Oxides shed,

RE: How can I convert movie made in 2006 with BUP, VOB, IFO and MVD files?
@lauriemessage My guess is that the company that scanned the 8mm film supplied the digital files in the form of a DVD Video disc, rather that a data disc with the individual MPEG files in a folder, therefore I think your .VOB's are the ones that

Frame rate & audio sync bad in AVI, 3D images reversed, JPS support
The current 2021 version of Movie Edit Pro still has the same problems with frame rates as the previous versions. I have reported this several times, to no avail. The historical NTSC DVD and broadcast rate is exactly 30000/1001 or approximately

RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis Unless I am exporting only to DVD and the source material is DVD quality or worse, I use 16:9, full HD (1920x1080) as my project settings. I do not normally shoot 4k and, like you, I am using mostly old material that is full HD or

I have been looking at the Movie Edit Pro tutorials. Now I understand screen recognition and takes. Great feature. Also see that MEP allows for chapters in the DVD menu; that feature seems to be missing in Photostory. I see that the Plus version

Wow guys, thank you for the great suggestions. I have been "learning" Photostory Deluxe for about six months and just have recently tried the trial version of Movie Edit Pro. I was frustrated by the other video editors I have used over the last six

RE: Video Formats
@MAA Hi, Ditto what John EB said. I hope that you have Movie Edit Pro Plus or Premium, not just basic. If you do have basic, try to get an upgrade to Plus or Premium. Check which one has the lower price, because recently Premium was on sale. I see

Video Formats
I am a new user of Magix Photostory Deluxe. I have embarked on a multi volume “Story”, probably divided into a 5 DVD set that spans 50 years of mostly photos and some movie and video clips. So, I am dealing with a lot of older low-quality material

RE: VHS Transfer and Editing Inquiry
@Scenestealer Hi Peter, I started re-recording the VHS tapes the other day using the Roxio stick. I could not get MEP or VPX or anything else to properly read through the interface. They gave me an error. So, I used my laptop - no problem. I

Sorry. It is a videorecorder we are trying to connect - not a dvd, and it is not a commercial video but film of our children.

@Andrew-Riley Unfortunately your picture is rather blurred so I can't actually read any detail and still don't know what a Coleman DVD is! (A very quick Google search suggests it might be a film?) However, if you bought the complete "package" from

VOB. The DVD was given to me after the filming indicating the rough version. I know they must combined it as it has chapter headings.

@johnebaker Hi John. I don't disagree that larger fans are quieter and my fans are only 3" but they are very quiet and running on a monitored speed controller. If I'm working with no sound on in my room I can hear my smartphone text 'microwave ping'
