Cubeace, yes I'm aware of the NTSC (Never The Same Color) issues with the US standard. US TV's used to have a Hue control because the color would go out of sync! That is why Europe chose the PAL system as it synchronizes the color automatically. I

RE: How to crop a portrait video to get rid of the black bars either side?
@weedavy6969 Hi, You don't need to crop, just go to Size/Position and change the width to whatever is the width of your project; the video will fill the screen but cut off top and bottom. Then, while holding down shift, drag the image on the preview

    RE: Problem importing .mov file
@M-Cox Hi. That may be useful information to others, hence my questions. First, we didn't know the origins of the files so the info you gave on your files have nothing to do with the original recording medium and were the result of having them

    RE: Problem importing .mov file
All my ProRes files are of old cine film of various gauges and they were transferred by a commercial company. The frame rate chosen by the company was the lowest usual rate for silent standard 8 mm gauge film, although some of the films had

The file details I sent you are for a video that imports into MEP17 no problem. I just checked it again. There is an error message reading: "Unknown error occurred during audio extraction", but that is simply because the video is of a silent film -

No sound on import from VHS tape to laptop.
I have followed the video and PDF manual using version 9 RYVT. All seemed straight forward and certainly the video image transfer is perfect, however there is great distortion of sound, (hissing), while recording is taking place and similar on

@MAA Hi Jim, MEP has more and better tools than PhotoStory and more tracks. The editing tools make life a lot easier. More tracks may come into play if you start using collages, especially if you make your own. I made some up for series of photos

I am a new user of Magix Photostory Deluxe. I have embarked on a multi volume “Story”, probably divided into a 5 DVD set that spans 50 years of mostly photos and some movie and video clips. So, I am dealing with a lot of older low-quality material

@johnebaker Hi John. That's interesting. If I'm doing cross fades they tend to be between 3 to 5 frames long but specialist fades are longer than 12 frames. Sometimes because of where frames land I do find it better to do longer cross fades. I'm not
