Upgrade Question

I have SF 16 on my laptop and just purchased a new desktop and want to use SF there. Magix is offering a $99 upgrade to SF18. My question is, can I purchase this upgrade and instead of upgrading 16 on my laptop, install it on my new desktop? Or both?
