RE: For the AVI-heads: MMS2023 Bug - incorrect file ratio on import
@johnebaker Which capture software are you using and does it have a setting for anamorphic pixels? John, VDub or AmarecTV, no, there's no setting apart from the number of pixels ie the actual resolution. Every SD video that exists is anamorphic, ie

RE: For the AVI-heads: MMS2023 Bug - incorrect file ratio on import
@Former user I don't understand what Vegas is saying re the PAL DV PAR (1.0926); I have never heard of such a number before. However, the image of the fellow's head in the monitor is correct: a slight side bar on the left, a larger bar on the right.

    RE: Blurring Background
The automatic tracking of at least people and animals should finally be included in MAGIX software. There are competitors and competing products that can already do this. At least one is even free. However, the free one is from the company

    RE: VHS captures, video "washed-out"
@browj2 For NTSC, standard capture is 720x480, 29.97, YUY2. I haven't tried NTSC, but you'll probably have the same issue: Magix won't interpret it as 4:3 (and you won't be able to change it in Video Properties) so you'll have to manually set it to

    RE: “Could Not Select Device”
@PETER-SMITH1397 Welcome to the Magix user to user forums. Although I use a different camera I also quite regularly transfer DV tapes to computer using a firewire connection. By far the most common reason for connection problems using FW is the

RE: Dropped sound with imported video files from MiniDV tape
@JeffB2310 Jeff, an odd one! MEP/MMS has traditionally been pretty good with capturing DV although I will admit that I use WinDV or Scenealyser, because I like splitting up my captures and having each clip named by date/time, instead of having one

RE: Mixdown Speed Much Better with Magix Screen Maximised
Some more results, even more pronounced. I'm mixing down/exporting some big DV-AVIs into MPEG4, with Neat Video and a bit of sectioning and sharpening, resizing to 1440x1080. The RTX-3060 GPU is doing most of the work. The export was to the same

RE: Analogue AVI File "Frame Salad" Now Fixed?
@AAProds Greetings Al, I still have the occasional random frame make an appearance, more so with Huff than Lag,,but not really enough to cry about. What I do get annoyed about is, again on rare occasions, video flashing i.e.alternating every couple

RE: Dropped sound with imported video files from MiniDV tape
The reason I suggested to type 1 and back to 2 is that there would be a possibility that DVDate would fix any audio glitch, then returning the corrected DV AVI back to the native Magix type.

Mixdown Speed Much Better with Magix Screen Maximised
I recall a post of some time ago about mixdown speeds for a DV project that were around 30% faster when the Magix screen was minimised. I tried it a couple of times on my old system and did find that minimising the screen did seem to speed the

    RE: Misleading "DV Processing" Claim?
@SP. Not sure if there are any DV capture cards today. In the early 2000s Canopus made such devices, but they were very expensive, like hundreds of dollars. If you want to get them used they are still as expensive as back in the day and very likely

RE: Dropped sound with imported video files from MiniDV tape
@JeffB2310 Jeff, good to hear. DV can be glitchy; I have had all sorts of trouble with some portions of DV recordings at times. Provided you can capture after the glitch point, to the end of the tape, it is a simple matter to split up the tape into

RE: For the AVI-heads: MMS2023 Bug - incorrect file ratio on import
No, there's nothing wrong with the recording, it's just that there is no aspect ratio stored, so everything just uses the actual size (720/576) to work out what the aspect ratio could be. @AAProds I dragged your file in 1st so it set the project

@Can-Dive I was not aware of this 4:3 vs 5:4 issue. Do you know if this problem exists across different video editors? For example, to your knowledge, does Vegas Pro have this issue? I couldn't say. We do have a few Vegas users here though so they
