I am also frustrated with Rescue Your Videotapes 4.0. The problem seems to be that there are no hardware or drivers options available.But I am not sure. I wasted $82 on this, should have gotten Roxio....

You're welcome.  And, thank you for letting me know it was helpful. Hopefully, it was as clear and easy to follow as I was trying to make it.  It's probably easier to use a hardware MIDI keyboard controller, but if you don't have one, this method will work in a pinch.
