Hi

Assuming you have Windows 7 or 8.

Using Windows Explorer, double click on the dowloaded zip file

Right click the Country Vol 1 folder and select Copy

Browse to C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools right click and select Paste

When you start MMM2014 the soundpools should appear in the media pane under File Browser, Soundpools

Yes .. I'm using Windows 7

I had done that .. but I was expecting the lists of loops / sounds to appear under the "Standard" Soundpool heading where the sounds would then be nicely catergorized.

Is there any way of achieving that?

browj2 schrieb am 20.05.2015 um 04:10 Uhr

Hi,

As John EB indicated, make sure that you copy the Soundpools under the folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

Normally, Music Maker will scan this folder upon startup and your soundpools should all show up. If, for some reason they don't, then click on +Add under Soundpools and navigate to the folder. Your new soundpools will be added.

There have been cases where Music Maker "forgets" where some soundpools are and you have to go back and tell it using the +Add button.

Hello,

Thank you for your replies.

I have put it into that folder as suggested and I've used the Add function. Both do not bring it into MM?

So yes, I'm a bit stumped right now.

Hi

. . . . I have put it into that folder as suggested and I've used the Add function. . . . .

The Add function on the Soundpools tab does not appear to work with some of the Soundpools, it appears to update the database, however it does not appear in the Soundpool tab.

However they do appear in the File Browser, Soundpool option as shown below

Yes, I was and I am able to do that, however I would much prefer it here.. so that the sounds are sorted like all the others.

Is this possible with the free Country Vol? Or am I just bashing my head against a brick wall?

browj2 schrieb am 23.05.2015 um 16:38 Uhr

Hi,

I added an answer the other day, but for some reason it did not post. I've had a few like that this week.

I download the "free" Country Vol 1 soundpack. It is not composed of normal soundpools which is why you can't add them under Soundpools. Take a look at the folder where there are other soundpools that work. There is a file called BPM.inf, which is a simple text file that can be opened with Notepad. Here is what you would typically find:

[Tempo]
BPM=130

[HarmonyTable]
Scale=C

Sample1=C
Sample2=d
Sample3=e
Sample4=F
Sample5=G
Sample6=a
Sample7=B

With Country Vol 1, there is no BPM.inf. In normal loop files, there is information embeddded as properties giving the key (pitch) of the loop. Look at the properties of a normal loop in MusicMaker and you will see this. Compare this to a loop from Country Vol 1 where there is no pitch information. Thus you cannot simply create a BPM.inf file and hope for it to work; it won't.

The Country Vol 1 loops are not normal single chord or scale loops. If you listen to a harmony file, like Cash A.ogg, you will hear 3 different chords, not one. Thus you have to do as John EB says, use them from the File Browser. You can mix and match, but the A's go together, the B's, the C's etc. The drums are numbered 1 to 4; do what you want with them. All of the loops are 4 bars long and the BPM is 170.
