Video Deluxe 2008 with QuadCore

Hi Everbody...

I got the VD 2008 and I edited a video from a 2:40 show shot in 16:9 and 25 fps.

I added some things like titles, subtitles and credits.. nothing much. No effects or shiny stuff.

Now i started to export it to an AVI file (source) is MPEG 2 ...

But only one of my 4 cores is used which results in a total mixdown time of about 40 hours.... half of it is done... but there's still a lot left... And for future projects or if there are any mistakes in there....

-> can I get all 4 cores to be used for this?

Hi @torgum,

unfortunately you cannot get all 4 cores to be used when working with VdL 2008. This program does NOT support any multi-core systems - as I know even not dual-cores.

Support of quad-cores is normally depending on the software you will use on these machines; this software must be designed to work with and support those programs.

As far as I know - as well as MAGIX advertising itself - VdL 17 is designed for using quad-cores when working with AVCHD-material, but I have no own experiences ....

Hi.

The answer is NO.

If a program only use one core it does not matter how many cores the cpu owns.

The software has to developed for dual or quad cores. VDL 2008 is not.
