Shaky Effect without Plugins
Hi Anirban, You can also simulate a earthquake effect by using key frames and then just moving the picture or title around. The plug ins are faster and easier to use but you can do it manually if you choose to. I personally would not bother with key frames because it takes a long time and a lot of adjustment to get it the way you want. Much faster and easier to use the New Blue plug in. I looked at the video you sent and that is not a earthquake effect. Most of what I saw are slight zoom and blurr effects. MEP can definitely do this as well but again you will need to use key frames and use zoom in and out as well as blurr to get this to work for you. George

complete white background
Hi, Not a lot of information with your request as to what you plan to do with the white background. If you just want to increase the size of the white background to fill the screen, move your video and audio down to tracks 2 and 3. Then go to Effects, then Design Elements, Colour Swatch, then pick the white colour and move it into track 1. As long as the white background that you used is pure white you should have a white background where you can adjust it using size and position. If you want to use chroma key on the white background, that will be much more involved. When you use a background, it is always better to tell us what effect you are trying to achieve to get a more precise answer. If the white background you used is not the same white as the colour swatch, then you will also need to adjust the colour swatch to match the background that you used by clicking on the colour swatch object, then click video effects, then colour correction, and adjust the colour angle, colour correction, and saturation until they match the original "white" background. how do i get my video to work in my website?
Hi, I agree with John's assesment. What program are you using to build your web site? If it is Xara, I would definitely suggest that you not place the files in the root directory. Place just the one video file in a sub directory, and point the link there. I would also export it as .mp4, to get the best results. George

Hi, It might be better if you just asked your question instead of talking about how horrible the program is and calling Magix employees "buffoons". This is a user forum and if you asked your question in a polite way you may well get a good answer. I have been using this product for years as a professional video editor, and yes I either own or have tried most of the others out there. This is still my primary application. I have had occasion to contact Magix support on very specific technical questions, and they have actually been more that helpful. Rethink your approach to this question/comment and perhaps ask it again in a more polite manner. We all get frustrated when things don't work out the way we want them to but perhaps you are not providing enough information or asking the right questions. You say you have Movie Edit Pro. What version do you have, what is it doing or not doing that you think it should. What are your system specs? The negative approach usually gets little or no help or response. However asking a reasonable question and providing a little information can go much further than your bully approach to get a response. Live and learn, George

Is there a way to make movies without sound
Hi, It really depends on which version of Movie edit pro you have. If it is one before MEP 2013 and 2014, select the video which includes the audio track, then "ungroup" the video from the audio and delete the audio track, or just "mute it if you think you might need it again. For some reason in MEP 2013 and 2014 Magix dedided to put the audio and video on one track. There is a way to do it, but I don't use 2013 or 2014 so I will contact a moderator and see if they can help. George

How can I get the computer ID to find out?
Hi Getting your computer ID depends on which version of windows you are running. Usually (for many versions) you go to "Control Panel" then "System" and at the botton you should see your ID number. Please note that if you purchase the application on one computer and are trying to activate it on another the ID numbers will not match so you are going to need to request an additional activation. Remember I think that with Magix you only get to do this 2 or 3 times. George

Magix rip off its customers
Hello, To add to John's comments, what is it that you want or expect from a sofware comapany? Have you ever tried asking Adobe to help you reactivate a software product that is out of support? If so, what was their answer? Likely "sorry you are out of time". You go ahead and put this out on FB or Twitter, and I will follow you around there and tell everyone you send this to that you have no idea what you are talking about, are totally misinformed and are basically clueless about how this type of business works. John was very diplomatic with his response as he must be as a moderator, but I do not have to be that diplomatic. None of us here work for Magix, nor should we be subjected to your abusive comments. We are all users helping other users, and if you have a question or a problem, try asking for help instead of offering threats!!! You need to learn some basic manners, so go ahead and post your comments, and if Magix does not dispute your pathetic claims as bogus, then I will. When you have calmed down ask an intelligent question, and you will likely get an intelligent answer. George ps. Try asking Microsoft for support on a out of support product and have your credit card ready and be prepared to pay a fee that is many times what Magix charges. Ask Microsoft a question about say Windows XP and let us know how much they charged you or if they would even talk to you about XP. Better yet, call Microsoft about a current operating system say Windows 8 and see what their help desk charges. Let us know what you find.

How i can make test Magix on steam?
Hi, The Steam OS is a Debian Linux based operating system primarily used for gaming. The product you refer to is a little confusing. You first refer to Mobile Movie Creator, then ask about testing Movie Edit... Even if it did run on Debian Linux, why would anyone want to capture video from a gaming system on a mobile device? As Carl suggested, most Magix products run on the Windows OS, some are available on MAC but I have never seen one that was compatible with Linux let alone the Debian version of Linux. If by "some codes" you mean access to source code, you definitely will not get it here, or are you likely to get it from Magix although you could try writing to Magix support. I think that you may be way too involved in the Linux open source phenomena and your flavor of choice is Debian?...Red Hat maybe, but Debian, I don't know. As Carl suggests, see if Debian has a Windows emulator (which I seriously doubt) then if it is any good you should be able to run pretty much any windows based application. Movie Edit Pro 2013 question
Hi, Not sure what you mean by fast forward and reverse frame by frame. In most editing software when you fast forward or revers, it is going frame by frame, it just happens at a speed that you cannot actually see the frames unless you slow the frame rate way down. In MEP, if you zoom your project to the 1 frame level, you can scroll through the project one frame at a time. Set it to 1 frame at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, then use the scroll bar at the bottom to move through frame by frame. If you press "play" at this zoom level, the movie will play at whatever frame rate you have selected and you will not see the frames because they will go by too fast. If you want to have it play slower, set the frame rate to 1 fps and that will slow it down so you can see it, but just remember to change it back to whatever playback rate you want before burning or exporting. Hi, To add to John's comments, if you are commited to a laptop versus a desktop PC, if you buy a new laptop, you may also wish to consider what they call a "cooling pad". This is a device that you place under your laptop (usually powered by a USB port) that has a fan that helps keeps the laptop running cooler by providing an additional fan to bring more air circulation. Some of these products work very well while others do virtually nothing. If you plan to go this route, let me know and I will give you some ideas on which ones work and which don't (I have tried many of them and wasted a lot of money on the ones that do virtually nothing). Heat and very poor laptop fan design are probably the biggest reason why laptops are not the ideal solution for video editing. George

2013 vs. 2014 Whats the difference?
Hi, I agree with John. Magix seems to release the new version in September or October so at this point, I too am waiting to see what the new offer is with the new version. I too would lean towards the Plus or Premium versions. Premium especially because there is usually additional software included that costs a lot more to buy as a seperate product. Good Luck George

No one here actually works for Magix, but we are a pretty knowledgeable group of users who are dedicated to helping other users. My suggestions don't always work so if this does not solve the problem, come back and let us/me know. Hi, I assume that when you say you have 10GB of storage you mean you have 10 GB of RAM. That should be plenty of RAM proided you are not running other memory intensive applications when you are editing and have a fairly fast CPU. Have a look at your memory allocation using windows task manager and look at what is running in the "processes" tab, sort by "memory" and you will be able to see which processes are consuming memory. Close the applications that consume significant amounts of ram. Do this by shutting down the applications, not just "killing the process". If that does not work, try reducing the "movie display" setting to a lower resolution. If you are using a version of MEP prior to MEP 2013, you may want to "preview render" your project and that could help. Finally as a last resort you may want to consider upgrading your system to a faster Quad Core processor. George

movie edit pro 14 plus problems under windows 7 professional
Hi, Movie Edit Pro Version 14 is not showing as windows 7 compatible according to the Microsoft Compatibility Center. If you actually have Movie Edit Pro 2014 it should be compatible. Remember that not everything that was XP compatible will run on Windows 7 or 8. Movie Edit Pro version 14 was released on March 12, 2008 which makes it over 6 years old. XP was introduced in 2002, followed by Vista in early 2007, then came Windows 7 in mid 2009. In Win 7 you could try running it in XP compatibility mode and see if that works. George

Hi, I honsetly don't understand what you mean by "wrong routing", and "master inactive" could you please explain in a little more detail? By wrong routing do you mean that the exported MP3 file is routed to a different destination than the one that you chose? By "Master Inactive" do you mean that any mastering work you have performed is not present in the exported file? I just can't see how either of the two situations I described are possible, so I must have mis understood your question. George

Remember, website maker is a pretty basic on line web publishing application and is not really designed to do anything to complex. It is really designed to create simple web sites quickly. George

Audio synchronize
Hi, As John suggests, audio synchronization for speech is very challenging, but not impossible. I regularly have to synch audio from multiple cameras and independant audio recorders. I do this by watching the audio wave form of each audio source and first align them at a relatively basic level (by back and forth muting of tracks until I get some basic alignment) then move to the 1 second level and align, then to the 5 frame level to align, and finally to the 1 frame level to get the final alignment. Time consuming, yes, but it really does work. It works best if all of the recorded audio was recorded at the same or a similar levels, but you can adjust the timeline display of the audio tracks if it is not. There are some products out there that "claim" to do this automatically, but I have yet to find one that actually does it well. These products also cost probably 10 times what you paid for MEP 2013 plus. George

Hi, The YouTube video that John suggested is a great basic video for MEP2013. He covers the material a little fast but it still gives the real basics. I have been thinking about doing a YouTube video covering this same material in a little more detail, but was not sure of how much demand there would be. How can I slow down playback
Hi, If you select the track you want to change and right click on it a dialogue box will open and near the bottom, you will see "Resampling/Timstretching" click on it. A new box will open that looks like this. Change the algorithm from "Resample" to "Standard" now you will be able to change time or tempo without affecting pitch. George

Hi, Just a hint, when trying to reach Magix by telephone, sometimes the local U.S. reps (if you are located in the U.S. or Canada) are swamped with calls during normal business hours. Magix seems to have the ability to pick up those call in Germany if you call during European busines hours. When I have used this approach, I have rearely waited for more than a few minutes to have someone answer the telephone. George
