Burning error..strange.
There is not enough information in your post to help me understand why you are getting a different version of your edited material when you burn, but I think you are on the right track for a work around. Yes, do export the video to MPEG-4, then create a new project, drag in the MPEG-4 file, make sure it is the material that you want, save the project under a different name and then burn it. Can I burn a dual lay disc with this version? If so How?
Interesting question. I cannot find anything in the MEP specs that talk about dual layer burning. You might want to ask Magix tech support this question. However if you already have a dual layer burner, it probably came with mastering and burning software, so why not just export your video as MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 and use the burner software to burn the disc. I know it is a two step process, and a bit of a pain but there is no reason why it should not work if you need to get more material on the disc. You could also just try it and see what happens. You may have to try a couple of different settings to see if it works but if you already have the burner, let it run over night. Good luck, George

Stabilisation of Video
Hi Again, You are busy today. To get to the stabilizer select the clip to be stabilized then right click on your mouse, select "Image Stabilization" and the stabilizer will open. You will probably need to experiment withdifferent settings to get what you want. Hissing Sound
Hi, Yes, you would go to Audio Effects, then "Audio Cleaning" then click on the "Noise Reduction" tab. you can work with the presets to see if that gets you what you want. If it does not work as well as you like, you are going to need to go to the advanced tab and take a sample of the noise to get rid of it. why does the website not fill the screen on larger screens
Hello, You need to set the page size of your pages to fit the screen size that you want it to fill. Remember though that if you set it larger than what most users will have the page will be too large for smaller screens and people will have to scroll around. How to set the page size is on page 31 of the manual. Good luck

Removing original vocals
I agree with Procyon that you could use the "Karaoke" effect, but that will really only minimize the vocal track, not eliminate it in most cases. Which means that your vocal could be louder than the original which has been minimized, however if you are not singing in the exact same key as the original vocalist, it is going to sound very strange and likely out of key. Removing original vocals
Yes, there are a couple of products available that "claim" to remove vocals, but there is a catch. They can only really do it if the vocals are center panned and at exactly the same level on both left and right channels. If you really want to add your voice to popular songs, you may wish to consider going to http://www.karaoke-version.com/custombackingtrack/ and seeing if the songs you wish to record are there. The music is usually very close to the original artist, and you can choose how to mix the version you download. Prices are reasonable, but the only problem is that they cannot be used for commercial purposes without specific permission. You can choose the key that you want the music to be in, remove instruments if you want, leave or delete background vocals, etc. Overall this is not your average "karaoke" site. Hello Daniel, I have watched the last 3 videos that you have posted, and I must tell you that the music is fantastic. The audio quality is pretty good for web video. I do have a concern about the video quality. The lighting is very bad, as is the quality of the video. It looks out of focus and hazy. Don't use a cell phone to record this amazing music. Borrow a video camera or two or three from friends. Put one camera on the guitar player, one on the keyboard player and one showing both musicians. Then use one sound track and "multi-camera" with MEP to produce your final product. These are great songs, very good sound, but not so good video. The songs kept me watching the video, but if the video were better, I would have been totally drawn in. I have played, recorded, written, and produced music videos for almost 30 years, and you definitely have good material. You just need to think of different ways to present it to your audience. Hi, I agree with Procyon. 67 tapes digitized then time streched is going to take a lot of time and effort. Check ebay and see what is available. I just looked and they run from a couple of hundred dollars to $10k for a professional deck. Just make sure that the ad is very clear that the unit is working for both playback and record and has the ability to hold the largest size reel that you have. I also remember that the old Akai reel to reel deck that I used to have had a tape speed switch to play at two speeds but it also had two adapters (a rubber roller and a metal roller) that would provide two more speeds for a total of 4 tape speeds. Check if you have those two parts with your machine. Good luck, George

Second when I query interec who is, that url comes up as a invalid format which is why I said it does not seem right to me. .website is a really unusual final domain extension. .com, .net, .org, .nl, .ca, .de, etc are all pretty common .website is one I have never seen before. Why is there footage missing from the movie I recorded onto DVD?
Hi, I tried everything I could think of to reproduce the problem you described. I took 216 photographs ranging in size from 3 to 4 GB adjusted the length each photo would play so that I wound up with a final video that was about 22 minutes. Changed my movie setting to the ones you mentioned, added 20 effects including transitions, collages, titles and one of the pre made outros and a soundtrack that lasts the duration of the video. First I exported the video as MPEG-2 with HD2 resolution and got a file that was just over 4.1 GB. So now I know my file is large and is going to take a while to burn. I then added a simple DVD menu and burned the video to Disc. The resulting DVD was within seconds of the original and when playing it back I could not find any issues at all. I did notice that during the rendering and burning process the MEP application was using just over 50% of my RAM (which is 6GB) and often using 80% of my CPU. Unless you had a lot of memory intensive applications running at the same time I can't see RAM as being the problem. Your CPU is also a little faster than mine, I am using windows 7 64 bit running on a quad core AMD processor. You might want to log a support ticket directly with Magix tech support and give them all the detail that was in your post. They may have a solution for you. Hi I am in the process of duplicating your settings using 2 videos that equal about 13 minutes and saving it as MPEG-2, at HD Quality 2 using your project settings and will let you know what happens when the file finishes saving. George

Garbled audio on import of MP4 file into Movie Edit Pro 17
Hello, I think you may be talking about two things here. One is the garbled audio, and the other is the missing audio tracks. I need to understand a couple of things before I can give a more concise answer. First what application was used to create the MPEG-4 file that you now wish to edit in MEP? MPEG-4 can support up to 4 audio tracks, but usually when you save the file from a consumer application, it mixes the audio tracks and you usually wind up with 1 audio track. I have had problems with "garbled" audio when I have converted from one file format say MPEG-1 to MPEG-4 and not used the correct audio codec. Have you converted the file from one format to another and if so, what application did you use for the conversion? Finally, does the original MPEG-4 file play all the audio content that you expect on any of the common video players like Windows Media Player, QuickTime, Media Player Classic, etc.? Hello, Here are some shooting tips to reduce the impact of this during the shoot http://photofocus.com/2010/01/20/reducing-the-jello-effect-from-rolling-shutter/ to correct after the fact you need to use a video stabilizer such as NewBlue http://www.newbluefx.com/stabilizer.html or Mercalli http://www.prodad.com/home/products/videostabilizing/300391667,l-us.xhtml . I personally find the NewBlue product easier to use but many people swear by the Mercalli product. I think both offer short free trials so you can check them out with the videos that you are having problems with and see if they work for you. By the way I am assuming that you are asking the question because you have tried the Magix stabilizer and it did not minimize the problem enough. Good Luck George

Slow Pre-Loading
Hi, RAM, CPU speed, OS, available disc space, number of open applications, etc will have a huge impact on how long it takes to load, pre-load, render, or burn a video. You have not posted any of your system specs, but I can tell you, if your are running 2 GB of RAM which is pretty normal, and you have other applications running, you will see very slow loading, pre-loading, rendering, and burning. If you are running windows XP or Vista, neither OS is very video friendly, XP especially. 2 GB of RAM is probably the minimum that you need to have for MEP to run, but that 2 GB needs to be available to the application if you want decent results. You would be much better off with 4 or 6 GB or even more RAM if you want really fast response. I run Windows 7 64-bit with 6 GB of RAM on a Quad Core processor and I often feel that I am not getting the speed that I want. Food for thought. George

A couple of obvious questions that you may not have thought of. How long is your video, what burning resolution did you choose, and how big is the file you are trying to burn? Also how much RAM do you have on your system and how much disc space do you have available? The fact that the DVD burns and does not crash indicates that the application has recognized what you have created, but there must be something else that is not allowing all the content to burn to the DVD. You also use the word Movies. Are these movies that you created, or are they movies acquired elsewhere?

Black screen
Hi Mike, Sorry you are having problems. Please note that most of the people on this forum do not work for Magix, myself included. I do have a question, and perhaps an idea. First the question. What type of file are you trying to import? Since the application shows the file icon, it probably recognizes the file type, but you may not have the correct codec installed on your system to play the file. Does it play in Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, or QuickTime or any other standalone video player? If not, it could very well be a codec problem. If it does play in some other player, there may be some other issue. Another thought is if you have a YouTube account, upload it to YouTube, and either send me a private message with the link, or post the link as an answer to my comments and let me have a look at the file. Out of Focus
Hi, You are going to need to cut the video at the in and out points of where you want this effect to happen. In other words, go to the point where you want to start the effect, go to the razor blade icon just above the time line click the down arrow just to the right of the icon and make sure it is set to "split". That will splid your movie at the entry point. Now go to where you want the effect to end and do the same thing. If you want real precision with where the split starts and ends go to roughly where you want the effect to start, then change the zoom to say 5 frames and use the jog shuttle to get to the exact place where you want to make the cut. If you are not sure how to do this, check out my basic editing tutorial here it is not specifically about how to add this effect but it will show you where all the controls that you need to make the cuts are located. Birthday Video
Hi nirvanray, I can't really tell what you are asking for. If I were creating a Birthday video for my Mom, or anyone else, I would go out and grab some "birthday" images from www.dreamstime.com or http://www.stockphotosforfree.com/ you know birthday cakes, candles, etc. insert some video greetings from me, maybe some photographs of me throughout the years and end with a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY title. Maybe some background narration, a nice sound track, and there you have it. Don't know if this helps, but I thought I would offer an opinion. Good Luck

Out of Focus
Hi, If you are asking to create a "out of focus" effect that is pretty easy. Select the video segment that you want to apply the effect to. Go to the "effects" tab, click on "video effects", then click on "sharpness". You can now choose between the "sharpen" control, or the "artistic blurr" control. If you are trying to correct the focus for something that was shot and is out of focus, that is harder. The "sharpness" control will be a little help, but if the clip is seriously out of focus, you need to look at more sepcialized software to accomplish this in video. Good Luck
