Hey everyone,
I'm back musically with a typical composition: "Electro Space New Wave Industrial," composed improvised using plugins from my Arturia V8 Collection and my master keyboard: M - AUDIO CODE 25. Today I went to SonoVente in Reims to order my new workstation: the Yamaha MODX-m7, which is really comprehensive, even though I would have preferred the Korg Kronos 3 first. It's even better suited and faster for recording everything in one go while playing, and for memorizing all the changes to each track of the piece, with effects, modulations, etc. It also features the KARMA system, which further enriches the sounds and variations while you're playing—ideal for an improviser like me. It saves time and ensures that I don't lose anything from an improvised live performance or composition, allowing me to explore sounds and do the sound design that I love before creating music. The Kronos 3 is twice as expensive, so that will be a later purchase, and I'll probably stop there, unless I continue to be drawn to the superb Arturia PolyBrute 12. But since I already have the MatrixBrute, I'd like to replace my old 1992 Yamaha SQ 16 PSR workstation with the MODX m and get a second workstation, and therefore the Kronos 3, much later, because I've never owned a KORG, and each brand has its own very specific sounds and other characteristics. Music creation, various motorcycle riding, and a bit of sport—that's all I have left in my life for my retirement, so from time to time, when I can, I treat myself. Greetings from Pat W the Persevering.

Hallo zusammen!

As always, the music is very personal. Excellent instrumental combination and sound, reminiscent in certain passages of '90s electronic music. It's definitely music for the discerning listener. As always, I appreciate it. I take this opportunity to wish you happy holidays.

Yes, Patrick, music is your absolute passion. And that's why you should expand your equipment every now and then, whenever you can. I do the same. Since MAGIX doesn't currently offer any good soundpools, I occasionally buy sample packs from ProducerPlanet to satisfy my passion for making music. 😉

Your new improvised piece is truly brilliant again, and once more confirms your artistic talent for making music! You conjure up such amazing sounds so effortlessly – how cool is that?! I really enjoyed listening to you again, and of course, watching you too! 💯💯💯💯💯💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍👍🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹👌👌👌👌👌👑👑👑👑👑💯💯💯💯💯

Stay healthy, see you soon, and greetings from Sylvio 😎

Du hast also Recht, dich woanders umzusehen.

Hey my friend, and thanks a lot for your comment.

Yes, it's true that MAGIX doesn't innovate much when it comes to samples, which is a shame, and you're right to look elsewhere.
Many sound designers offer huge libraries of them, just like for sounds...
Personally, I have everything I need to keep me busy long after I leave this earth, and I hope that's as late as possible, because I'm far from having fully explored all my instruments and plugins.

In the Aeturia V8 Collection, which you see me playing in this video, I easily created many variations of the factory presets. I've done quite a few with my analog synth, the MatrixBrute, but it's much more complicated with that synth. With just that one, there are over two trillion sonic possibilities, not to mention the arpeggiator and sequencer.

I have other instruments and plugins, and this new instrument wasn't really essential for music creation, since I already have plenty to work with, lol!

But a workstation is very practical for improvisers like me, because it does everything and these days they're also true synthesizers.
Thanks again, my friend, and I'm very glad you like it. Take care and see you soon.
Happy holidays to you too.

Hi Pat,

I'd love to be able to create sounds like you do.

But I can't, I can't play any instruments.

Another really cool piece. You're a master of improvisation!💯👍👌

Danke, mein Freund.

Thanks, my friend.
You know, even though I had music lessons from elementary school, I had a teacher who taught us to play the flute, and since my mother had given me a guitar, I started playing on my own. Then, since my teacher was a guitarist, he taught me chords. But he wasn't the one who taught me the keyboard. My mother had given me a small air organ (a two-octave one), and we had fun playing pieces with the sheet music book of well-known songs that came with the organ. Later, she gave me one of the first Casio organs, which was a bit like a synthesizer, and I still have it. And I played a little piano because she had bought an old upright concert grand from a musician, while she, on the other hand, had had lessons with a piano teacher. But I remained largely self-taught, because music theory bored me, so I didn't continue. It must be over 20 years since I've been able to improvise whatever comes to mind when I start playing, but that wasn't the case before. And as long as you have a musical ear, you could give it a try, I'm sure you could do it, you just have to want to... The guitar is more difficult for me because I have short fingers, and I can't play barre chords; they sound bad because I don't press hard enough, and my left hand lacks dexterity. So even though I have six guitars, I rarely play them and prefer the keyboard.

I don't understand anything about all the technology mentioned. But the main thing is that good music is created in the end 😉 Haha, I really like the dominant and crazy drums 😄 The whole piece is very experimental 👍 You totally exploited artistic freedom again 🎯 I particularly like this kind of music. That's fun ❤️

Thanks, my friend, for watching, and I'm glad you like the music. I enjoy composing music that's a bit out of the ordinary, lol! And I'll keep doing it as long as I can. Have a wonderful holiday season too. Best regards.

Thanks, friend, for watching, and I'm very glad you like this type of music. As you say, it doesn't matter what technique or construction is involved; the main thing is that some listeners like it, lol! And even if they don't, it's not a big deal; to each their own, lol! And as long as you're happy with it yourself...
Have a great holiday season.
Best regards
