Hey everyone, I'm completely hooked on my new musical instrument: (Swiss Army knife) this KORG Kronos 3, a workstation straight out of Area 51, I think. And yes, I love The X-Files, lol! Anyway, this phenomenal 9-engine synthesizer has been keeping me up at night (but it's pure bliss) since I picked it up at SonoVente in Reims last Wednesday, February 4th. I unpacked it in a flash, connected it to the PA system, and bam! It was on, and after 47 seconds, the magnificent high-definition screen displayed the default SET LIST of the first 16 factory presets, with incredible clarity. I started playing it, and I was already hooked. (It's a Swiss Army knife of a synthesizer.) I quickly improvised, filmed some of it later, especially the next day, but lost some because I didn't know how to record it, and I still haven't figured it out. What I did manage to keep in the dedicated memory are these combinations for this piece, which I hope will surprise you and showcase the power of this instrument.

There are many more on the 120GB hard drive that are just as amazing and incredible. So there you have it, folks. It's late (2:00 AM currently), and I wish you a good viewing and listening experience. And I must emphasize: use very good headphones or professional earphones, otherwise you won't be transported by these choirs and electronic sounds and other elements. The sounds are powerful, so you need a certain amount of bass to be truly impressed. You'll feel like you're listening to a concert with 40 musicians and just as many choirs in a cathedral. See you very soon for more tracks I improvised on the fly, some of which were filmed with my iPhone. The sound quality is decent, though it's not as good as this one, which was recorded on my iPad, then processed through my DAW, and exported as a WAV file. Good night, and don't forget to give it a thumbs up if you like it. Subscribing is free, and don't forget to click the black bell icon for notifications so you don't miss any of my new YouTube releases on my 5 channels: 2 dedicated to various motorcycles and 3 for music creation. Greetings from Pat W the Persevering.

Hallo zusammen!

First of all, I'd say you made a great purchase. Korg synthesizers are, in my opinion, the best. Regarding the track, I'd say that, as always, your music is very personal, alternative, and never banal. Then reading and seeing that, like a child receiving a toy, you started playing with your new synthesizer is undoubtedly very cute. Dear Patrick, it's true that we're now heading towards an irreversible old age. But we also have every right to live our dreams and our hobbies. So, a big round of applause for everything. The music is, in any case, very beautiful and of high quality. Franco

Grazie mille, mio caro amico.

Grazie ancora, amico mio, e saluta Sandro. Amichevoli saluti

Thank you so much, my dear friend.

(It's often said that men, even at a certain age (for your information, I'll be 63 on February 13th), remain big kids at heart.) I've been struggling financially for the past three years, certainly not homeless, as I have my country house, but I couldn't afford anything and had to underheat my home for two winters (only between 7 and 12 degrees Celsius, I even had terrible frostbite that lasted for weeks). This winter, I'm keeping the heating moderate to save even more. Since I retired on December 1st, I'm enjoying life again and starting to treat myself from time to time, once I've saved up for a few months when I can... And since I'm very patient, I always manage to get what I want most, admittedly it takes time, but that's how you get good deals, lol! So I ordered a Yamaha MODX m7 because it's half the price. Expensive, but I cancelled the order because after a month and a half, it still hadn't arrived at the music store, and in reality, it wouldn't have arrived before March 12th. So, even though I'd already paid for it, I got what I originally wanted instead: this fantastic Kronos 3, which is nothing like a Montage m (which is the same price) or a MODX m7... I'd barely gotten home on Wednesday, February 4th, in the late afternoon, when I unpacked it, connected it to my small but powerful PA system, turned it on, and, like many others, started playing the sets from the default SET LIST page. I started around 6:30 PM and played until 4:00 AM, and I'd already recorded two tracks in Block mode using the dedicated function: Karma Mode—extraordinary, really enhances your improvisations—and a longer track, all without even knowing how to use this complete workstation. And one of a kind. Many use it on stage because it's ideal for that, but not only that...

So, my friend, these are my activities as a young retiree, lol, indulging my passion for music in general, and even more so for creating music freely, as you often tell me, lol, and the same goes for my passion for motorcycles. In a few months, I actually intend to sell my current electric motorcycle, for which I've made quite a few videos with my music, just like with my other two-wheelers, and buy a prestigious and revolutionary motorcycle instead. It'll be a surprise...
Thanks again, my friend, and your music is great too. I have trouble finding time, both for myself and my other friends and colleagues, because I spend about 5 hours a day on YouTube and am subscribed to over 400 channels. So, between watching some videos weekly, plus my personal activities, and the sports I continue to practice, it I'd need at least 48-hour days, and even then...
Thanks again, my friend, and say hello to Sandro. Friendly greetings

Hey mein Freund,

Hey my friend,
Thanks for your kind message and I'm so glad you liked this improvisation...
I'd like to clarify that these aren't samples, but sounds put into Combi mode, meaning they're combined by default in the factory presets, but you can modify them as you wish.
And everything often comes directly from the Kronos' hard drive, which is an SSD. In fact, when I play, you can see the LED on the button flashing to access the hard drive.
As for the sampler part, the Kronos doesn't loop them; it's always the hard drive that plays them continuously. That's why you can also modify them at will, and when you play them, for example, if it's an arpeggiated sample, its speed doesn't vary depending on the octave you're playing, as is the case with many other samplers.
