Hey everyone,
I'll post an explanatory video after this one, which starts with a very short comparison of mono and stereo recordings, followed by my EDM improvisation. Unfortunately, several of my improvisations on my Colmann Olya Pro2 piano, and more recently on my Kronos, were recorded in mono using GarageBand.
I've long wondered why I couldn't get the same fantastic sound that comes so well from my piano speakers as from my PA system connected to my Kronos. The Kronos, with its numerous effects, including stereo, enhances the sounds, which I couldn't find in the recordings. I was always disappointed and couldn't figure out the problem...
So, until this EDM improvisation, my previous video improvisations were essentially mono and therefore far from reflecting what my piano, and even less so what my Kronos, can produce. From now on, you'll be able to hear what the Kronos can produce in terms of the sounds that delight my ears when I play... Hallo zusammen!
Nach diesem Video lade ich ein Erklärungsvideo hoch, das mit einem kurzen Vergleich von Mono- und Stereoaufnahmen beginnt, gefolgt von meiner EDM-Improvisation.

Leider wurden einige meiner Improvisationen auf meinem Colmann Olya Pro2 und in letzter Zeit auch auf meinem Kronos in Mono mit GarageBand aufgenommen.
Ich habe mich lange gefragt, warum ich nicht denselben fantastischen Klang wie über meine PA-Anlage mit dem Kronos erzielen konnte. Der Kronos mit seinen zahlreichen Effekten, darunter auch Stereo, verbessert den Klang, was mir in den Aufnahmen fehlte. Ich war immer enttäuscht und konnte das Problem nicht lösen. Bis zu dieser EDM-Improvisation waren meine vorherigen Video-Improvisationen also im Wesentlichen mono und spiegelten daher bei Weitem nicht das wider, was mein Klavier und erst recht nicht mein Kronos leisten können. Ab sofort könnt ihr hören, was der Kronos alles kann – Klänge, die mich beim Spielen begeistern… Bald gibt es ein Erklärungsvideo mit Beispielen und Improvisationen in verschiedenen Stilen.

Salut mon ami ! Cette structure musicale semble de bonne qualité ; on voit que tu commences à maîtriser le placement de tes mains. Je pense que tu vas encore nous surprendre, et j'ai hâte de le constater. À bientôt !

Fantastique, mon ami ! N'avais-je pas remarqué que tes derniers enregistrements étaient en mono ? Mais je me fie toujours à ce que j'entends, mono ou stéréo, peu importe. C'est encore une superbe œuvre de ta part ! À l'écoute, on croirait entendre un orchestre entier, mais non ! Comme par magie, toutes les notes et tous les sons proviennent de cet ingénieux synthétiseur, le Kronos 3 ! 💯💯💯💯💯💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍👍🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹👌👌👌👌👌👑👑👑👑👑💯💯💯💯💯

Il y a quelques jours, j'ai regardé un concert de Jean-Michel Jarre sur la médiathèque d'ARTE. C'était un concert en plein air sur la Plaza de España à Séville, dans le cadre du festival Icónica Santalucía, le 8 juillet 2025. Waouh, il est toujours aussi bon ! Il a joué certains de ses plus grands succès, certains dans de nouvelles versions ! Ce que j'essaie de te dire, Patrick, c'est que tu pourrais facilement jouer avec Jean-Michel Jarre ! Vous vous complèteriez à merveille ! 😉

Danke, mein Freund, und ich freue mich sehr, dass dir diese Improvisation gefallen hat. Glaub mir, wenn ich diese Improvisationen in Stereo aufnehmen könnte, würdest du den Unterschied sofort hören, und es ist überhaupt nicht mit dem vergleichbar, was ich online in Mono stelle… Was das Spielen mit Jean-Michel Jarre angeht, könnte ich sicherlich Melodien zu einigen seiner neuen Stücke improvisieren, aber er ist ein Profi, und ich bin ein Amateur mit begrenzter Fingerfertigkeit, insbesondere mit meiner linken Hand, die leider sehr steif ist, da ich nicht täglich Keyboard und andere Instrumente spiele und mich kaum noch an meinen Musikunterricht in der Grundschule erinnere, haha! Ich bin ein Improvisator, der seine Improvisationen komponiert, oder auch nicht, wenn ich mich beim Live-Spielen filme, egal ob ich aufnehme oder nicht. Jean-Michel Jarre hingegen ist ein professioneller Komponist und Musiker mit einer umfassenden Klavierausbildung (sein Vater war ebenfalls Komponist). Er schreibt seine Musik, improvisiert aber nicht, wie viele andere Komponisten. Er hält sich jedoch mehr oder weniger an musikalische Regeln, während Musik meiner Meinung nach keine Regeln haben sollte, da dies dazu führt, banale, allgegenwärtige Musik zu komponieren und andere zu kopieren, was heutzutage sehr verbreitet ist.
Ich hingegen strebe danach, Musik zu komponieren, die noch nie zuvor gehört wurde, Avantgarde-Musik, sicherlich nicht perfekt, aber das spielt keine Rolle; ich bleibe ein Amateur, der einfach nur seine Musik teilen möchte.

Believe me, if I could put these improvisations in stereo, you'd immediately hear the difference, and it's nothing like what I put online in mono... As for playing with Jean-Michel Jarre, I could certainly improvise melodies to some of his new music, but he's a pro, and I'm an amateur with limited dexterity, especially with my left hand, which is very stiff, unfortunately, since I don't play the keyboard and other instruments every day, and I don't remember much from my elementary school music lessons, lol! I'm an improviser who composes my improvisations, or not, when I film myself playing live, recording or not. Jean-Michel Jarre, on the other hand, is a professional composer and musician who received extensive piano training (his father was a professional composer). He writes his music but doesn't improvise, like many composers. However, he more or less follows musical rules, whereas for me, music shouldn't have any rules to follow, because that leads to composing banal music heard everywhere else, and copying others, which is very common these days. I, however, strive to compose music that has never been heard before, avant-garde music, certainly not perfect, but that doesn't matter; I remain an amateur simply wanting to share...

In the opening credits you have wonderful dissonances in it 🙃 The piece of music itself is again very well designed. You have thoughtfully combined totally interesting sounds here 👍 I always like it very much 😋 A lot of variety, but everything fits together wonderfully. The sound is brilliant. A masterpiece ❤️

Es freut mich sehr, dass es dir gefallen hat. Die beiden kurzen Ausschnitte aus diesen beiden Improvisationen waren tatsächlich dissonant und experimentell und sollten den Unterschied zwischen Mono und Stereo verdeutlichen. Aber ich spiele auch gerne dissonante Stücke, haha!

I'm really glad you liked it. Indeed, the two short excerpts from these two improvisations were dissonant and experimental, and to quickly show the difference between mono and stereo, but I also enjoy playing dissonant tracks, lol!

Yes, I love anything that's very expressive while playing, and the Kronos is the best for that and much more.

I wish I'd had it a long time ago, since it's 14 years old, but oh well, I have the most elaborate and complete version 3, so I don't regret the delay, lol, and I'm enjoying it...
