IL DIO DEI GABBIANI

C’è un piccolo gabbiano,
e un corvo tutto nero,
e un merlo sul sentiero
vicini alla mia mano.

Il primo vuole cibo,
il secondo guarda il nido,
il terzo vola via
verso la prateria.

Ora si sa che il cielo,
accoglie il loro volo,
quando al calar del sole
ciascun qualcosa vuole.

Ed un cavallo stanco
zoppica al loro fianco,
mentre una capra allatta
gli orfani di una gatta.

Briciole di pane
sulla mia strada ho sparso,
ora che il cielo è terso
solitario abbaia un cane.

Il dio del mare è sveglio,
e le sue onde innalza,
spuma di mar su scoglio
con giochi d’acqua danza.

Profumo d’alghe sale,       
lungo tutto il litorale,             
accanto alla mia mano         
rimane quel piccolo gabbiano.

THE GOD OF SEAGULLS

There is a small gull,
and a crow all black,
and a Blackbird on the trail
to my hand.

The first wants food,
the second looks at the nest,
the third fly away
toward the Prairie.

Now you know that heaven,
welcomes their flight,
When at sunset
Each wants something.

And a tired horse
limps alongside them,
While a suckling goat
the orphans of a cat.

Bread crumbs
on my way I shed,
now that the sky is clear
a dog barks Solitaire.

The sea God is awake,
and its rising waves,
sea foam on rock
with water dance.

Scent of seaweed, salt
all along the coast,
next to my hand
remains that little gull.
