3d video editing

I have a camera Sony Bloggie.

3d file format is MP4 side by side.

Is it possible to import the file so that it can be edited in 3d format.

I believe so in the Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus.

But... Sony?

In my experience Sony sometimes has its own plans and uses format standarts it has tweaked to make them proprietary for their programs. I am not sure if this would be the case as well.
