Acid Music Studio 11, Auto update failure.

stuart-cassie wrote on 2/25/2026, 6:29 AM

Every time I run Music Studio 11, im prompted to upgrade. So I have been trying but it always fails at installing the Microsoft Visual Studio redistributable . I have tried downloading the version from microsoft and running a repair, then installing the update - Failed again. Tried removing it and letting the Auto update install it fresh, nope its not having that ether.

Any ideas?

@stuart-cassie The program is attempting to install an older version of the C++ Redistributables than the one already installed on your system. This will not work. The installer does not seem to recognize that you already have a newer version installed. You must uninstall the version on your computer, then run the update, and finally reinstall it from Microsoft.

@stuart-cassie Just in case, did you restart your computer after uninstalling the Redistributables? This might be necessary. Please select the Restart option and not the Shut down option.

Used the Microsoft installer to remove Visual Studio. Rebooted. Ran the Music Studio updated again, and again it fails to install Visual Studio. So Still no update installed.

@stuart-cassie

Used the Microsoft installer to remove Visual Studio.

What does this mean? You go into Windows Apps and simply select to uninstall the Redistributables (I think it's version 2013). I'm not sure what you're doing here.
