Analogue AVI File "Frame Salad" Now Fixed?

AAProds wrote on 6/2/2023, 10:41 PM

Yesterday I tried some Lagarith files as part of my other topic on AVI aspect ratio handling by MMS 2023. To my surprise, I found that I had no "frame salad" issues (where random single frames from other parts of the file appear unannounced). I have worked exclusively with MagicYUV for the last couple of years because of this but haven't been checking each patch to MMS 2023 to see if it has been fixed.

Can anybody else dealing with analogue AVIs check to see if handling of Lagarith and HUFFYUV is now normal, without the frame salad?

@AAProds

Greetings Al,

I still have the occasional random frame make an appearance, more so with Huff than Lag,,but not really enough to cry about.

What I do get annoyed about is, again on rare occasions, video flashing i.e.alternating every couple of frames from picture to black to picture etc. This again is with Huff and Lag but also with DV video.

What is weird is that if I scroll fram by frame over a "flashing" area or where a random frame appears all appears perfectly normal.

I have found that for most of the cases of "flashing" applying MercalliPro CMOS Fixr Pro removes it. Most odd,
