@frank-flores Do you use an ASIO compatible, external USB audio interface? Highly recommended.

Of course Focusrite. Magix is the worst...

Hi, keep in mind that Music Maker does not handle asio at the same level as programs like Cubase, Ableton or Studio One.

It is also true that these software have a much higher cost than Music Maker and therefore you cannot expect the same level of performance.

However, a few things come to mind: have you set the power profile to maximum performance? Do you perhaps have an antivirus running in the background? And even if I imagine the answer is positive, have you updated the drivers of your Focusrite to the latest version? I use a Steinberg UR22c that works on a USB 3.0 port and I have no latency problems even if I must admit that on MusicMaker I cannot go as low as I do with the other programs I mentioned above.

Try with another daw just to be sure is not an issue related to MM only...

Hi Frank go in to the program settings and see how many ASIO drivers you have. Then report back.

Serato studio is my go-to program. I have absolutely no problems with it crashing or crackling or popping! I run as many as 72 instruments simultaneously I'm not even joking! Magic is for Mickey Mouse although it is good for some things, but definitely not multitracking guitars. It doesn't even like its own plug-in suite! I can't even say how many hours I have wasted with magics crashing and burning on huge amazing tracks that I have written. I'm surprised to have it tried hanging myself. Magix became the worst on the planet one day started utilizing third-party plugins. Magic 2018 proprietary platform was the last and best version. I'm considering rolling back and just using it instead of anything beyond 2018 which I consider absolutely worthless trash. Even then the download for 2018 changed one of their plugins and is missing a lot of instruments particularly tribal percussion which is one of my favorites. I have tried all said English with different buffer settings. I have tried adding and removing plugins to see what might work best but it's a crapshoot 90% of the time. When I purchased magix 2023 I was told that the bugs have been fixed and that was the last version I purchased I seriously doubt that I will continue upgrading after being lied to you by magix personnel in Germany! Magic 2017 is also 80% more reliable than any other version!

@frank-flores

Hi

. . . . Crackling with buffer set at 1024! . . . .

Did you try increasing the number of buffers and sizes to fix the crackle?

What is the specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required, and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.

. . . . Focusrite . . . .

Which model, are you using the Focusrite ASIO drivers, or the Magix ASIO driver, and is it connected to a USB 2 or USB 3 port?
