Can I use Movie Edit Pro 17 to create a slideshow for DVD?

I want to create a slideshow for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, consisting mostly of photographs with some video clips.  I realize that PhotoStory would be, perhaps, a better option, but I have Movie Edit Pro 17 and would rather not have to purchase another software package.

jonicb,

I've not got PhotoStory for a detailed comparison, but from what I read on the Magix site, our MEP17 is miles ahead in all respects. It gives auto slideshows under 'Edit' >> "Wizards' >> 'Slideshow maker...', but the program's multi track timeline mode make possible loads of other presentation options.

One of my favorites is the 'collage' effect where several images are arranged to fill all or part of the screen. These can be static or animated such as several small images comming in one at a time to tile one side and then, after a pause, one zooms to fill the entire area. Creating this is as easy as simply putting a series of images on the timelines and apply the college effect to the first of the sequence! Perhaps you are already familiar with these?

PhotoStory says a new feature is 'Animated decorative elements' which have been available in the MEP series as long as I've used them.

And I can't see that PhotoStory can use video clips at all! Enough said?

Reagrds,

Carl

Thank you, Carl!  I am excited about trying it after hearing more good things about it...
