Hello,
I am trying to use the "feature movie" effect in the general effects section of Movie Edit Pro + HD so I can get the letterbox look and it will not stay. It prerenders so I can see what it looks like, but if I apply effects or export my movie, the effect is gone.
I would appreciate any help.

How are you adding it?
I had not used this before reading your question, so I tried it out and it seems to have worked for me. I just took a short clip added it to the arrangement, then went to the "Effects" > "Presets" > "General" then to the "Feature Movie" effect and I added it to the video clip by dragging it into the arrangement on top of the video clip itself.
I noted that it changed in the preview monitor so I played it back to verify, then I exported the file.
The file I imported was a .wmv and I also exported it out as a .wmv (mostly just to save time for import/export) I am not sure if file formats have anything to do with it.
I am doing the same thing. It just will not stay for me. When I export the file, it does not export the effect.

I recommend trying to install the patch for the software. Maybe that has something to do with it. I know I do have the patch installed, so we could be running different versions.
If that doesn't work, you might want to re-install, and re-patch. Just to make sure everything is where it supposed to be.
