CAUTION Video deluxe 2027 and keeping previous version.

Greetings,

Yesterday I bought and installed VDL 2027 Premium. During the installation I was offered the chance to keep my existing Movie Studio 2025 - I thought I would keep it and the new installation went well.

After much playing with VDL2027, this morning I decided I didn't need MS2025 anymore as all my existing and archived projects loaded into VDL 2027 with only a minor hiccup in one.

I decided to uninstall MS 2025. This went without a hitch; there were no warnings. When I then loaded VDL2027 a warning came up

After some deliberation and a couple of cups of tea I decided to re-install VLD2027 except it wouldn't just reinstall, it had to be uninstalled and then reinstalled.

From what I can see, the custom settings I made are still there apart from the audio which appear to be default.

Along these lines. Do you know if one can install v2027 first and then install an older version? (I suspect not).

You can, however this can introduce problems if later you decide to uninstall either one as there are many common components, some of which, as @me_again has found, are uninstalled, and need to be re-installed.

Personally I have two strategies for my PC and laptop for security and installatiing/uninstalling software and Windows updates:

Drive backup/imaging software,to image the C: drive before making 'major' changes eg upgrading software, and major Windows updates, if anything goes wrong I can easily revert the C: drive back to how it was. I use Macrium Reflect there are other similar programs available.
Install/uninstall software for monitoring (logging) installation and uninstalling software, which offers the ability to remove Registry entries and files and folders that are left behind with the standard Windows uninstaller. I use Revo Uninstaller Pro, paid for, It does need care when doing the left over removals.
