That is a good question...

What is the file type you are trying to open?

To me, the error is stating that the system does not have a audio codec for "ms audio" which I have not heard in years. Windows audio is now a .wma (Windows Media Audio), therefore the codec is for that format. if you have a file that predates the .wma format, then it could be that Windows 7 does not have a codec for it.

You might try Googling or web browsing (if you don't use google) for ms audio codec Windows 7 and see if there is any information on that...

The point is that I am not trying to open any file!  In the 'File' menu under 'Clean Up Wizard' when I attempt to use the wizard to get rid of unnecessary files to save disk space, I get the error message "ms audio file cannot be imported due to missing decoder. Download latest version of windows media player".

I am merely deleting unnecessary files so don't see the need for any codec, simply a recognition of superfluous file extensions, e.g., .bak.

Hmm, I do not get such an error when I click on this, though I did not choose to "Search and delete superfluous files"...

I am not sure, sounds to me like there is something else going on (obviously). I could only think it is getting to a file that the wizard cannot read, thus it is halting the task from completing. I couldn't say for sure though, I am not keen on a program deleting files for me, so I probably wouldn't use this feature.

I actually setup things differently. I have a folder on desktop for projects (Photo, Video, Audio) and inside the projects folder, I create a folder for each project and add in any content (media) for that project. When I use the Movie Edit Pro to setup something, I always save the project file into the folder I setup... once everything is complete, I usually compress (.rar) file the folder and send it to a external hard drive, thus I have nothing in need of cleaning up. But I understand, that defeats the purpose of the question.
