compatibility between movie edit pro 14 plus and pro 17 plus

stacygirl wrote on 6/20/2011, 3:46 PM

I have been using movit edit pro 14 plus since it was new and have numerous files and video clips loaded into the program. If I get movie edit pro 17 plus will I be able to load files and clips from 14 plus into movie edit 17 plus, are all the codecs completely compatable between the two programs? Also,  can the 17 plus version run an external monitor? Is it compatable with any other fx editing programs ( like fx home, or after effects, etc ).

thanks for all your answers in advance, I need all the help I can get.

Hi Stacygirl

You will be able to import MEP14 projects into MEP17, however once you have saved the project in 17 you will not be able to import it back into 14 - the project file formats are different - make a backup copy of the project before trying.

You may encouter some problems which you have to manually correct eg if you have used an external plugin in MEP14 which is not available for 17.
