Creating podcast chapters in Sound Forge Pro 12

Hello,

I am producing a podcast and using Sound Forge 12 Professional version. Is there a way to create chapter marks using Sound Forge. I'm not sure whether to use regions or markers.

I should also add that I'm a blind user and use a screen reader.

Thank you for any assistance.

Regards,

Stuart

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Stuart-Lawler

I would use Regions. Highlight the chapter duration on the timeline, open the "Insert" menu and select, "Region" (keyboard shortcut "R")

Most audio book publishers I have encountered specify separate chapter files. If that is the case, in the "Tools" menu, your can select "Extract Regions" which will render separate files. Also name the files accordingly to the publisher's submission recommendations or specs.

FWIW, "Edit> Selection> Set" (keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+ Shift+ D") may help selecting a segments of the timeline. I have not tried the 'Auto Region' tool on spoken word material.

You may also want to set the the integrated loudness level to around -16LUFS. Ozone Elements can automate this task in the "Master Assistant" (which I think was included with Sound Forge Pro 12). You first want to set Ozone's loudness target factor in 'Settings'.
