Did something to hide the Edit mode screen, nothing appears when the tab is clicked. Current project does display in the Record mode.

Depends on your program version. In VPX and MEP16+ at least, try 'File' >> 'Settings' >> 'Reset program setting to default'. More vigorous but true for all would be to do a re-install.
