do upgrades follow you to a new machine?

I have sound forge pro v.10 on an XP machine that finally gave it up. If i use my new Windows machine, log on to the upgrade page and buy the most recent version, will it install correctly or will it be looking for evidence of a previous installation. The v10 serial number is registered with MAGIX

I am not exactly sure what you are asking @Steven-Abrams, but... SF Pro 10 will not interfere with the Magix versions of Sound Forge.. even if it is installed and activated on the same PC. I have SF Pro 10 and use it occasionally on my Win 10 PCs, which also have SF Pro 12, 13 and 14 installed. . FWIW, the plug-in chainer and record UI was changed in Pro 11 (and beyond), and many folks, including me, prefer the legacy UI (I will spare you my beta tester rant).

The Sound Forge Pro 10 (Direct X) iZotope Mastering Suite that was included with Pro 10 will run on the 32 bit versions of SF Pro 12,13,14... but not the 64 bit versions. FYI, both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Magix SF can be installed on the same PC without issue and only count as one activation. Magix allows SF 12, 13 or 14 to be activated on two PCs simultaneously.. For all intent and purposes, SCS (Sony) versions of SF are not limited to a specific number of activations.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum.
