Export Freezes/Crashes Video Pro X

Steven-Mach wrote on 12/24/2020, 12:13 AM

Hello,
I obtained Video Pro X via Humble Bundle and put together a short video (mp4 file and short mp3 soundtrack) but each time I go to export the video (in any format) it stops at <25% and I can no long click on Video Pro X - I have to close it via Task Manager. I am able to run other things so it is not a full system crash.

PC Specs:
AMD FX-4350 Quad-Core Processor 4.2 GHz
16 GB RAM
64 bit operating system
Windows 10 Home

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve. and welcome to the user to user forum for VPX.

Make sure that in the program settings you have disabled anything to do with hardware acceleration or hardware encoding and set the program to use video for windows and not Direct X.

It's because your system has no Intel GPU and possibly no additional graphics card VPX can recognise.

Ray.

Thank you for the response!
I have tried that above as suggested and am still continuing to freeze during the "Mixing down..." export window. Now after only 0:01:36 elapsed time, the export stops and freezes the program (still unable to click anything in VPX). I am only able to open it and interact with the program after closing it in the task manager.

Thanks in advance for any further suggestions!

@Steven-Mach

Since the suggestions from Ray haven't solved the problem for you we need to take a step backwards, I think.

Can you find, download and install the free MediaInfo utility, point it to your source video file and post the results of the Text view here? Then, can you also do the same for your .mp3 audio file? I have a suspicion this problem could be actually being caused by something in that file.

Hi

In addition to @emmrecs comment, try the export again and watch the Movie time when the crash occurs note the Movie time.

When you reload the project, look at the timeline at the previously noted movie time - has the short clip been cut and are there any effects applied?

Hello,
I have downloaded the mediainfo utility and scanned the main video source and audio source, there is also another sound effect used in the video.

I think you are correct that something in here is causing the crashing, I just tried to export a simple picture and audio as a video and that worked.

Also... the program has decided to startup when windows starts and I can't disable it through the usual windows startup or task manager routes - this program doesn't show up?!
I am running into a lot of issues with this program =\

Thank you for all of your help so far. I appreciate it.

@Steven-Mach

In MediaInfo, please select View>Text and copy ALL that data here. The summary pages you have shown lack a lot of the detail we really need.

After some further testing, it appears that when I apply Rotation/Mirror to the source video it crashes now.
I am able to cut, crop, add transitions, etc, but when I rotate/mirror too much, it crashes.
I will get those details to you soon, thanks!
