export trim dead space

Hi All,

Please help me get rid of my dead space in Music maker 2013. I wrote 18 seconds and it wants to export it as 30.2 seconds?

I have tried to use my cursor at the end of my compilation and drag it. I only get an increased time line? I do not know how to get rid of the blank space. I think that is why my export is stretching my 18 second comp to 30 seconds...

Maybe you can try a cut and paste proceedure.  Its written up in the Help files as to how to do this and I believe it is shown in one of tahe tutorials.  You change yur cursor into an image of sissors and cut out what you don't want.

As I have suggested to others in the past.....you might want to create a phony composistion and "experiment" on your new how-to proceedure so you are comfortable as to how it works.....BEFORE you accidently delete some precious stuff...but in case you still mess up...don't do anything else, go up to EDIT and do an Undo command and whatever action you just did will be undone and you can start oveer.  Good luck

I used the answer button to reply, as I did not see the reply button?

I tried to your 'hint' gnarly. Although, your answer is vague. I could not get it to work. Perhaps a link to the tutorial you mentioned, or some direct path steps to tackle this...?

I tried to select the dead space at the end, where I placed my cursor and then selected the scissors icon. No Luck.

I tried to drag and paste the are from both directions. If I go from Left to Right the timeline increases. So I tried to go from Right to Left, with no solution.

If you do not SAVE a file before closing, one does not have to worry about losing any changes.

Had to have surgery, so I haven't been responding.   Are you still having dead space issue ?
