Gap still appearing even after Setting A/B to Cut (no Fade). Help?

Recently, my MEP 16 started leaving gaps in between clips. The only way to join them together is to overlap, creating a fade effect. I wanted a hard cut effect. It used to to snap together just fine, giving me the desired hard cut effect. But now, it leaves a slight gap in between clips. I saw on this forum to set the A/B function to "Cut (no fade) and that has not solved the problem. Any other ideas as to what to do?

Zoom in on the junction of two clips showing the gap - can you see one or more black frames that are part of the video clip or is there nothing in between?

johnebaker - There is nothing in between. I deleted the project and started over and now it locks as it always had before. The program (Movie Edit Pro 16) only started doing this recently. and it was only the current project I am working on (I have made several in the year of so since I purchased the program). I love the program, but was perplexed as to why it started doing this. It was as if something was blocking the clips from linking together unless you overlapped them, which created a fade effect.
