HEVC Codex

I am looking for a new video editing software. I downloaded the trial version of Video Pro X17. The first issue I ran into on my Windows 11 machine is the software not working with HEVC mp4 files. License issue? I have the Microsoft HEVC install on my computer early this year and when I go back to Microsoft store (thinking it was an upgrade), it opens it on my machine. It is there and working. The other software packages I am testing are working with these files with no issue. This looks to be unique to Magix software. Is there something I need to do?

@norman-r

HI

The HVEC codec only becomes available on purchase of the full product, due licensing conditions, basically it has to be registered, for Magix to pay the licencing fee to the Licensor.
