How can I output 3d formats other than WMV from Edit Pro17

RogerGunkel wrote on 10/27/2010, 11:31 AM

I bought Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus HD as a heaven sent tool for 3d video editng, after months of frustration with other methods. Although the programme and 3d editing facilities are excellent, I am surprised that It only seems to output 3d files in wmv format. The wmv side by side files don't seem to be recognised by my Tridef software, or even Stero Movie Player, which recognises most 3d files. So I am left being able to monitor  from within the editor in glorious full colour full screen with my polarised screen and glasses, but am unable to export files that are useable apart from anaglyph.

Am I missing something in the Movie Edit Pro 17 programme, or alternatively, does anyone know how to convert the output files into something more accessible? Even StereoMovieMaker won't recognise the WMV files for conversion.

Any ideas welcome

Roger

If you load the project, then go to the drop down menu "File" then to "Export Movie" and then select the format you want... there is an area in that section called "Stereo 3D" that allows you different options other than the "Standard 2D".

I am not sure that works, I have yet to try anything serious with 3D, but there is that option maybe.

John, you are my hero! You are absolutely right for the second time today and I am now in export format heaven. I had wrongly assumed that the 'Export' tab showed the same options as export in the file menu.

Still early days with MEP for me, but with help like yours, it is much easier to get to grips with the programme.

Many thanks

Roger

Thanks for the info John, I've been having the same problem as Roger for ages now, so glad to have found your answer after hours of trolling around the web and all sorts of 'Export' combinations known to man in MEP17. As they say 'its easy when you know how', pity Magix didn't do it for us in their Help section though.

Thanks again,

David (not so confused now).
