How do I fade in superimposed images on a video...

IndianOrphanage wrote on 1/20/2011, 10:57 PM

Hi,

I am trying to fade in an image that I have superimposed into my video.

ie I have taken an image and put it up over top of my video while it is playing (kind of like a news channel would).

Here is a screenshot:

When I try to fade in the images (which are on track 4) they get pushed to the start of the timeline (ie the blank section in the timeline gets removed on track 4).

Can I fill it with a transparent "slug" or empty frame?

Also is there an easy way to give the background image a frame? (outside of adding it to the image file itself).

Cheers

IndianOrphanage,

How are you trying to fade in you image? I did a set up looking just like yours and did the fade, without any object movement, by dragging to the right the little five sided icon at the top left of the object in the timeline. The object should now show a sloping line which indicates the duration of the fade. Drag the one at the top right towards the left to do a fade out.

Regards,

Carl
