How do I fix section/zoom to export like preview? (Like for split screen videos)

I bought MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17 after previously working with Version 12 and then 15. I loved the interface of it, so I purchased the latest.

When I did split a split screen video, I went in "Section/Zoom" to choose which showed and didn't in one video over the other. The preview showed this, as I did this before a few times and never had this problem. But after exporting, it showed those sections in the video as zoomed in, and I had quite a few boxes/sections that were covering the other videos for how I cloned myself.

I tried changing the size of each video thinking it was zooming in to a section and I never made it do that. The preview shows it perfectly fine and I was excited, but I cannot export it without it doing that, ruining the entire video.

I'm wondering what it is I need to do and I really do not want to edit the whole video again. It took HOURS to get it right. I just want to export it like the preview shows. The video was recorded at 720p with a FlipMinoHD camera. I've never had this probelm with my trial versions and MMEP15.

Thanks!

Stephanieann,

I'm not sure what the problem is but one possibility might be that in your export the aspect ratio might be different than your movie settings.

Since the file is 720p I'm assuming the moving setting is 16:9 and you might have 4:3 as default in the export setting.  I so just change it to 16:9.

Hi Stephanieann

If you have opened an MEP15 created project in MEP17 then this may be the cause of this problem.

Magix recommend that you should finish projects started in earlier versions of MEP in the earlier version. MEP17 has done away with the use of reference files (.avd) used in earlier versions.

No, I opened in MEP17, edited in it, and exported with it. I did split screen a long time ago when I had MEP 15 though, and had no problems. But now with 17 something happened, and I cannot figure out nor change what it is.

David - I've been working with MAGIX for about 3 years now (or more I cannot remember! I started with MEP12!) and always fixed my own problems. But this one I cannot.

I have it for 16:9, it exports at that size. I preview it at 720p and 360p, doesn't make a difference. I export at the videos original resolution. But the cropped parts in the video (as I've done before) show a more zoomed in section of the video, instead of the section I selected. The preview shows it all correctly. I do a lot with video editing to put on my YouTube at youtube.com/smprovisions and generally always know what I'm doing. but this time it's beyond me.

Sorry Stephanieann, but if your source file, movie settings, preview setting, and output settings are all at 16:9 I don't have any other suggestions.
